Presented in (mostly) reverse-chronological order, the songs on B-sides. Opening track "What Little Girls Do" is a simple acoustic-guitar-and-vocals demo from Madeline's 2009 album White Flag, released on Athens' prestigious Orange Twin label. It strips things down to just guitar and vocals, which is how Madeline's always shined. "Diving Boards" is a wistful, swingy tune also recorded during the White Flag sessions but written back in '04. It bridges '60s folk and cheery '50s-style songs, and could give Nellie McKay a run for her money; Madeline ultimately decided it was too whimsical and left it off the album. "30 Days" gives listeners a stripped-down version of Madeline at her most morose, multi-tracking her vocals for a tune that sits alongside some of her other tunes of boozing, loving and regretting. A favorite at her live shows, it's never been released until now.
