Kleenex Girl Wonder

In the spring of 1993, a McDonald's shift manager named Voss suggested that Graham Smith start a new band called “Kleenex Girl Wonder,” and just get his shit together in general, musically. Two and a half years later, KGW were rocking the stage of the Chicago Metro, and at the turn of the millenium, they were performing sold-out shows in Japan. These days, they are a mature New York-based Verbose Power Three. [1]

The new KGW album, “Let it buffer.” represents another step forward: the songs are densely lean, rawly emotional, and catchy as shit. Lead single "Thelema & Louise" transforms an esoteric pun into a treatise on the perils of chaos and sex magicks, while street single "William Roberts" is a rap song in rock song's clothing about evoking both sincere emotional responses and laughter. With more multisyllabic rhymes and relationship metaphors that you can shake a wordstick at, you can basically bet you’re going to get your art criticism’s worth by spending an afternoon with this baby. Love, Graham

Kleenex Girl Wonder, "Let it buffer."

"Let it buffer." is the first Kleenex Girl Wonder album of songs written (in practice spaces) and recorded (in pro studios) by the band, and it shows: huge guitars, thunderous bass, and pounding rhythmic production lay the groundwork for Graham Smith's philosophically acrobatic lyrics.
